Jeffrey R. Hinkle
September 20, 1953 — February 27, 2014
Jeffrey R. Hinkle, 60, passed away on February 27, 2014, after a long battle with cancer.
Jeff was an avid sports fan and enjoyed bowling, golf, his Ohio State Buckeyes and Coventry Wrestling. He was a member of the American Legion post #566 and a graduate of Coventry High School. Jeff kept his sense of humor until the very end.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Betty; his aunt, Jean; grandmother, Gertie DeFago; and sister-in-law, Judy.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Pat; daughter, Kim (Mike) Connelly; son, Shane; grandchildren, Markie, Kayla, and Krosby; brothers, Jerry (Freddie), Bill, Dennis; sister, Judy (Kenny) Sellers; and dear friends, Rod Willis and Mark Dodd.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 5700 Brecksville Rd, Independence, OH 44131, in the name of "Team Hinkle".
