Jeanne Browning (Clark) was born in Akron, Ohio to Mona Aline Clark (Bitner) of Oakland, Illinois and Harold James Clark of Akron, Ohio on August 6th of 1930. She resided in Coventry Township her entire life. After graduation from Coventry High School she wed Franklin Henry Browning and helped him build their home, which would be expanded twice during her lifetime.
Together they had two girls: Deborah Jeanne and Linda Denise. Jeanne was employed part-time at Polsky’s as a model, and waitress at Long Lake Lodge in her early years; then, after her girls were born she sold Tupperware, and Judy Lee jewelry. Later in her life, the owner of Waterloo Home Supply offered her a part-time sales job when she observed her talent in home decorating.
She was a perfectionist at everything she did. She designed and sewed beautiful evening gowns; designed, planted, and maintained many beautiful flower beds; and maintained a large vegetable garden (canning, and preparing delicious meals daily). She also loved to make flower arrangements using flowers from her gardens as well as artificial. These activities were supported by Dad who assisted in any way she needed. She made holidays special - decorating, making special food and entertaining.
But don’t get the idea that Jeanne was all work and no play. Once she got her drivers license, her social life blossomed and she joined a golf league at Hol-Hi Golf Course and made many friends. They had a blast! In the winter she joined a mixed bowling league with Dad. Once Dad retired in his late 50’s they bought a motor home and went to the Keys in Florida for a couple months in the winter for many years. They also enjoyed cruises and spending a week some winters at all inclusive resorts. Mom liked to have fun!! She never met a stranger and was the life of a party.
Jeanne loved being active, going and doing. She made friends easily. She also had a special gift with wild animals and was adopted by a baby robin and later a baby squirrel who thought she was their mom. A cat was also a constant part of the family.
Mom lived in the home she and Dad built until the last five months of her life during which time she resided with her eldest daughter and son-in-law. She remained active until the last five hours of her life when a blood clot in the heart took her life. She will be missed by family and friends for she was dearly loved.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Browning on 12/31/2021. She leaves behind her daughter Debbie Miller, son-in-law Marty Miller; daughter Linda Pitman, son-in-law Emery Pitman; grandchildren Zachary Miller (wife Diana), Adam Miller and Megan Pitman; and great-grandchildren Alexander and Victoria Miller.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm, followed by a 1:00 pm funeral service with Pastor Stephen Neumeyer officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
