Jeanette Kay Gabrovsek Pope, 57, of Akron, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, March 13th, 2026 after fighting a long and courageous battle with chronic kidney disease. Jeanette will be remembered for her strong faith, kind heart and the love she had for her family and friends.
Jeanette was a devoted follower of Christ who loved God and our country. Her faith guided her life and was evident through the kindness and love she showed to everyone around her. She had the gift of finding the good in every situation, offering a kind word, encouraging others, and always used her health trials to glorify and honor God.
Jeanette was born on May 31, 1968 in Warren, Ohio. She graduated from Champion High School in 1986 and continued her education at Computer Tech of Pittsburgh. She later married her husband, Jim Pope, in October of 2019. She enjoyed music, dancing, traveling and had many cats throughout her life that brought her great joy. Jeanette was passionate about helping others and took pride in assisting with housing placements for foreign exchange students.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jacob Gabrovsek, and her twin brothers, Jeff and John Gabrovsek.
Jeanette is survived by her loving mother, Carolyn Gabrovsek; her beloved husband, Jim Pope; her sisters, Alane (Bill) Sprague and Amy (Brian) Grace; her brother, Tony (Pam) Gabrovsek; her beloved nieces and nephews, Madison (Eric) Clayton, Haley (Dave) Hunter; Brennan (Nicole) Grace, Abbigayle, and Kennady Grace; and Luke Gabrovsek; as well as eight cherished great-nieces.
Jeanette will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her. Her unwavering faith, kindness, and love for others will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. There is peace in knowing she has entered eternal life in Heaven, where her health has been fully restored.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, April 12 at 4:00pm at Life Church, 610 S Leavitt Rd, Leavittsburg, Ohio 44430.
