Jean Sullivan Theiss

April 8, 1922 — January 18, 2017

Jean Theiss (Sullivan), passed away January 18, 2017. Born in West Virginia, she lived most of her life in Tallmadge, Ohio. Jean was a talented homemaker and loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed sewing, canning, traveling, and reading. A gifted seamstress who not only made her own tailored clothing but her daughters' as well. She later donated her sewing skills to help create beautiful quilts at her church, Tallmadge United Methodist, to benefit charities. Being an excellent cook, many delighted in Jean's down-home cooking made even more delicious with fresh-from-her-own-garden produce. Jean's wit and easy laugh could make one see the upside in any bad situation. She was generous with her time and could always be counted on for a shoulder to cry on or her patented sage advice. Jean played the harmonica and loved to sing songs from her childhood growing up in West Virginia with her eight siblings. A Zen Master at checkers, Jean remained an undefeated champion her entire life.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin A. Theiss and is survived by her two daughters Bonnie Theiss Robinson (Dwain) and Vickie Theiss Callahan (Dino Massaroni), her six grandchildren, Gregory Robinson (Carrie), Jason (Leena), Victoria (Jay Nance), Eric (Leah Crawford), Josh, and Olivia Blatt and her four great grandchildren, Devin and Nathan Robinson, Lillian Blatt, and Wyatt Theiss Nance.
