Jason James Seffern

Jason James Seffern, 45, passed away suddenly on February 11, 2016. He was born in San Gabriel, California on August 31, 1970.
Jason was a 1988 graduate of Green High School and worked as an IT Administrator. He was a gifted musician and played the drums for several local bands. He also enjoyed softball, golf, four wheeling, and dirt bikes.
To know Jason was to love him. He had a heart of gold and a wonderful sense of humor and made friends wherever he went. He will be truly missed.
Jason was preceded in death by his father, Butch Seffern and his grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Stephanie Mellinger; sister, Jodi Mothersbaugh; brother, Rayff (Tracie) Seffern; nieces and nephews, Jacqueline Mothersbaugh, DJ Mothersbaugh, Crystal (Cody) Martin, Seth (Jacci) Mothersbaugh, Taylor Williams, Nicholas Seffern, and Jacob Seffern; great-nieces and great-nephews, Kaylee Adams, Johnny Weisen, and Emry Mothersbaugh. He also leaves his beloved dogs, Shelby and Keyno and many good friends in Akron and Columbus.
A celebration of Jason's life will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Humane Society.
