Janet L. Remmy, 72, went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2014, after a brief illness.
She was born on January 2, 1942 in Spencer, WV. Janet retired from Rite Aid Pharmacy. She enjoyed being surrounded by her children and grandchildren and reading her Bible. Janet went to Grace Baptist Church in Akron and has been a member for 17 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Remmy; father, Milford "Milt" Meadows; mother, Maxine Meadows; brothers, Dennis and Donald Meadows. Janet is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Jeffrey Williams; son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Liz Remmy; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Jim DiFiore; son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Cat Remmy; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jack Hulgin; sisters-in-law, Sharon and Marilyn Meadows; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerald and Rita Remmy; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn and James Rayke; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Akron General Visiting Nurse Service Hospice Care Center of Fairlawn for their care and support.
Calling hours will be Monday, 5-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m., at Grace Baptist Church, 704 N. Firestone Blvd., Akron. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church.
