It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Janet Marliene Brown. Janet was born in Weston, West Virginia on January 7, 1938, and moved to Ohio as a young child. At the tender age of 17, she married the love of her life Stanley Brown on May 21, 1955, and was married to him until his death on May 16, 2005. She worked for General Electric for over 25 years until her retirement at age 60.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; her son, Stan Jr.; her parents, Joseph Marsh, Mabel Ilg; and her brothers and their wives: Burley (Jean) Marsh and James (Betty) Marsh.
Together, Janet and Stan built a beautiful family, raising six wonderful children. Their family continued to grow, blessing them with many grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Surviving children are Pam Rowe, Bob (Terry) Brown, Jenny (Rick) Buoncore, Steve (Debbie) Brown, Brian (Bev) Brown; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Janet had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved pets, Sandy and Sophia. Her compassionate nature and dedication to her family and furry friends (including feeding the squirrels) will be remembered by all who knew her. Janet enjoyed playing Yahtzee, reading, collecting frog memorabilia, crocheting, baking, and taking car rides. Her very favorite thing to do was to go to A&W for a foot long chili dog with extra onions.
Janet's legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
The family would like to thank, Grayce Thompson, for her dedication, care and support with our mom. She’s an angel! We would also like to thank UH Geauga Palliative Care and Crossroad’s Hospice for their compassionate care.
