Janet L. Balthis

Janet L. Balthis, 84, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026. Born in Akron, Ohio to Edgar and Ruby (Morgan) Enos, she was a lifelong area resident. Janet was a simple woman who enjoyed crocheting, watching horror movies, playing bingo, elephants, music and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by husbands, Russell Balthis, Ronald Place; siblings, Kenny Enos, Jim Enos, Virginia Conard, Ruth Smith; grandchildren, Tyler Place, Heather Balthis; daughter-in-law, Lori Balthis. She will be sadly missed by her children, Russell Balthis, Tina (David) Cross, Cindy Balthis, Matthew (Jenny) Place, Diane (David) Gurley; stepsons, Keith (Cindy) Baker, Jeff (Cathy) Balthis; many grandchildren, great grand children and great great grandchildren; sister, Betty Chiki.

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, August 31, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. A graveside service will take place Tuesday, September 1 at 12 noon at Hillside Memorial Park.
