Jane B. Tatko, 90, of Akron, passed away on July 2, 2025. She was born on May 15, 1935 in Akron to the late Stanley and Helen Tatko.
Jane graduated from North High School and spent years attending classes at the University of Akron. Her career included working for Goodyear Tire and Rubber, the postal service, and Gillespie Pilcher Realty in Cuyahoga Falls.
In her younger years, Jane enjoyed skiing. However, her lifelong passion was bowling. She was inducted in the Bowling Hall of Fame and made numerous friends through leagues and tournaments.
She will always be remembered for her generous spirit. She selflessly volunteered at the Cuyahoga Falls Senior Center and area nursing homes, delivering home grown vegetables and organizing card games with the residents. She was always thinking of others. It was not uncommon for her to arrive at a friend or family member's doorstep with an unexpected gift that she just happened to pick up while she was out shopping. Jane never had children of her own, but she was the "fun Aunt" to all her nieces and nephews. They fondly remember piling into her car on summer nights and heading to the drive-in movie theater.
She had a quick wit even into her final years. She always had a funny or witty comment or reply when in conversation with others.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by siblings, Henry Tatko, Phyllis Tryon, Stanley Tatko, and Wanda Pilcher; and nephew, Michael Tryon.
Jane is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves a group of wonderful, lifelong girlfriends who meant so much to her.
Jane will be privately laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery.
