James Wilson

James C. Wilson, 87, of Akron passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015. He was born January 22, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to the late Clyde and I. Grace Wilson. On December 15, 1944 at the age of 16 James went to work for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and retired in 1990 after 45 years of service. In his free time he enjoyed rebuilding old cars, going to swap meets and listening to blue grass music.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandson, Reno Everett and five brother-in-laws; Okey Davis, Donald Simons, Wallace Cottrill, Dolan Cottrill and Darius Cottrill.

James is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Esther; son Jeffrey Wilson and Daughter, Kimberly (Robert Halbleib) Pantoya; grandchildren, Kevin Norton and Cameron Chasteen and a host of nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 23, 2015 from 12 to 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd Akron with funeral services to follow at 1pm. Interment will be in Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Millhiem Baptist Church.
