It is with deep sorrow we mourn the passing of James A. Stefanko, Jr. on May 17th at the age of 72 years.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years Wendie; son James; grandchildren Tiffany and Jon; 2 great-grandchildren Joey and Landen; sister Shirley Duncan; brother Richard (Nita); and numerous other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by brother Steve and parents Jim and Jean.
Jim was a truck driver for over 30 years and was self taught. Jim lived his life- his way for good or bad- but always staying true to himself. In Jim's spare time, he enjoyed fishing and going to the American Legion and the Eagles.
The family wishes to send a special thank-you to Summa Hospice and the staff at Post Acute Care in Barberton for the care and patience they showed Jim. Also to Pastor Mike of the First Baptist Church of Barberton for giving Jim the loving push he so desperately needed. Thank-you from the bottom of Jim's wife Wendie's heart.
In closing, It's been a Hell of a Ride!
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday June 7th at 4 PM at the American Legion, Garfield Memorial Post 566, 2974 Cormany Road, Akron, OH 44319 with Pastor Mike officiating and refreshments follow.
