James Edward "Jim" Riley

James Edward “Jim” Riley, 84, of Norton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Jim served as an associate pastor at Hametown Baptist Church and touched many lives through his ministry. He loved hunting, fishing, playing the spoons, and telling a good story. Mechanically gifted, he often helped others repair their vehicles.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne E. Riley; his parents, Raymond Neal and Madolyn Virginia (Upton) Riley; and his brother Samuel and sister Suzanne. He is survived by his children, Alicia Riley Britton (Charles), Shelley Riley Broske (Mike), Neal Riley, and Seth Riley; his seven grandchildren, Joshua, Nathan, Samuel, Tabitha, Tejay, Priscilla, and Peter; and his 17 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome to visit at Hametown Baptist Church, 4774 Hametown Rd. Norton, OH 44203 on Friday, October 9th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, October 10th at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Timothy Roeser officiating.
