James W. Ralston, of Akron, was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on November 15, 1941. Jim passed away on July 14, 2018 after a battle with COPD. Please, stop smoking!
Jim prayed everyday for Israel, our country, his family and close friends. He loved Jesus and was not afraid to talk about his salvation.
Jim "Bud" enlisted in the Army, came home and worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber. He then decided to become an iron worker where he retired from Ironworkers Union No. 14. Jim loved to travel, golf, play cards, read the Bible and talk about the good old days. He would say "If I stay humble I will not stumble."
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Penny Ralston; children, Bonnie Goham, Jim and John Ralston; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Visitation Wednesday, 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
