James Morris

James V. Morris , 71 , passed away July 18,2015. He was born in Akron,Ohio . Jim had retired from the Summit County Sheriffs Office after 30 years and the Summit County Prosecutor's Office ( CSEA) after 3 years. Jim was a member of FOP lodge 139. He proudly served in the USAF form 1963-1967. Jim was preceded in death by his parents William A Sr. and Rita Morris; brother William Morris Jr.; nephew William Morris III.

He is survived by son and best friend Thomas Morris ; sisters Dawnita (John) Claes of Uniontown and Dianne Cook of Akron; devoted nieces and nephews.
The last 10 years of Jim's life have been blessed by being a member of the Liars' Club a group of retired deputies devoted to laughing and having a good time. Golfing buddies Roy, Denny, and Dave: Jim still will be watching over your golf games; "sorry, you'll never be able to be as good a golfer as I was".
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project. The family will receive friends on Thursday July 23, 2015 from 5pm. to 7pm, a short service will follow, at 131 North Canton Rd Akron, OH 44305.
