James Henry Lee Jr.

James (Jim) Henry Lee Jr, age 75, went home to meet up with his wife of 50 years and best friend Linda L., September 25, 2026, in Ravanna, Ohio.

He was born to James and Vidiola Lee on November 18, 1950, in Akron, Ohio. He was the youngest of 3 with two older sisters (Irene McLane and Sueann McLane) and father of 4 Patty Johnson, Tina Lee (Addam Larson), Tammy Mathes (Michael Glenn) and Tony Trenoff (Autumn Hilboenot). Jim enlisted in the Marine Corps to following in his dad’s footsteps; after serving a short time; Jim continued to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a “lifer” truck driver to which he did for almost 40 years. During his younger years, when not driving truck, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed camping, going on picnics and playing sports with his son and nephews. Jim was a fan of John Wayne all his life and after Jim retired, he would just sit and watch any John Wayne or Western movies that were out there; he truly enjoyed it when his children or grandkids would sit and watch them with him. He enjoyed eating out with the “Chicken House” being one of his favorite places; but let’s not forget he was also an avid chocolate lover.

He is survived by his 4 children, 2 sisters, 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren among lots of nieces and nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his wife Linda Lee, both his parents James and Vidiola Lee, grandson, Drake Leonhard, granddaughter, Christina Hatfield, brothers-in-law, Wesley and William McLane.

James will always be remembered as a loving dad, brother, grandfather, uncle and cousin who would have given whatever he could for the ones he loved. He will be forever missed by the ones who knew him.

A Celebration of Jim’s life will be 11:00 am Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral home, 131 N Canton Road, Akron. The family will receive friends following the service which is taking at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Interment will take place immediately following at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, 176 Boulder Blvd, Peninsula, OH 44264.
