James H. Martin "fought the good fight" while on this earth, and went to join his Lord and Savior on May 22, 2014.
Jim was born in Delhi, Louisiana on December 24, 1941 to Johnnie and Lloyd Martin. During his life he served many roles as loving husband and soul mate, father, "Papaw", son, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. He was owner and president of Martin Steel Fabrication from 1990 until 2009. Jim was a faithful member of Bailey Road Christian Church, serving as deacon, trustee, greeter and dishwasher. He looked forward to the annual "Chili Supper and Pie Auction", as did other church members. The competition was fierce! Jim enjoyed bidding against the best of the best.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice Martin Fullerton; and nephew, Kent Faucett.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Beverly, of 28 years; son, Jimmy; daughter, Mechele (Bill) Leidecker; step-daughters, Kimberly Shane and Jessica (Ryan) Dollyhigh; grandchildren, Jamie Lynn (Michael) Semuga, Melissa, Kristen, Joseph, Rebekah, Dylan, and Bailey; great-grandchildren, Alanah and Jayden; special friends and travel companions, Doug and Janis Osborne.
Special thanks to Summa's Hospice and Palliative Care team and his "Nurse Angels" for their care, support, and love.
