James Gatskie, Jr.

James "Mike" Gatskie, 40, of Akron, passed away, peacefully in his sleep, on July 18, 2014 following a long illness. He was born in Akron, Ohio on October 13, 1973 to James, Sr. and Mary Gatskie. Mike graduated from Garfield High School, attended Hiram College and graduated from Kent State Univ. He retired from the City of Akron.

Mike will be dearly missed by his Son, Brent who was "The Best Thing that ever happened to me!", Mother, Mary, Brother, Matthew, and longtime Friend, Erik Gibson. He was preceded in death by his Father, James Gatskie, Sr and Grandmother, Margaret Taylor.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 4:00 pm at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Rest easy my son, there is no more pain.
