James Jasper Fiorello

James Jasper Fiorello, 82, passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

James was born on December 23, 1943 in New York City, NY. He moved to Akron, Ohio where he met his wife, Evelyn (Carroll) of 59 years. They resided in Ravenna, Ohio for over 50 years.

Jim was a loving father to Lori Phillips (Clark Sumption), Tony Fiorello (Lisa), and Gina Bell (Terry); A proud grandfather to Tyler(Vanessa), Gabriel (Shelly), Jaret, Kelsey and Riley (Bella); a cherished great-grandfather to Flynn. He is also survived by his older sister, Caroline Naccari of Brooklyn, NY; mother-in-law, Ruth Carroll, sister-in-law Cathy Perry; many nephews, nieces and friends.

Jim is preceded in death by his mother, Mary, father, Gennaro, sister Angela, niece Lenore, and his goddaughter, Amanda.

He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, plant 2 in Akron, where he built racing tires for over 35 years. Jim loved to watch sports, NASCAR and was a huge fan of WWE wrestling.

Jim lost his hearing at 3 years old and despite the obstacles, was able to make a great life for himself and his family. He was a member of the Akron Club of the Deaf.

Jim always told his family to “Never give up and You gotta be tough”. He lived by these words until his very last breath.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, March 27, 2026 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Jim's name to the Akron Club of the Deaf.
