James Edward Bennett

James "Jim" Edward Bennett, 65, of Akron, passed away September 27, 2016. Jim was a 1969 graduate of Central High and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army where he was Honorably Discharged in 1973 after serving in the Vietnam War. He worked as a mechanic for over 30 years, with the majority of his employment spent at Zim's Carburetor and Motor Tune Up.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Helen Bennett.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debra Bennett; son, James A. Bennett; daughter, Christina (Erik) Kruger; granddaughter, Allison Kruger; sister, Louise Maglione; and brother, Craig Bennett.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11 am at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312.
