James "Jim" W. Deitch

James "Jim" W. Deitch, 60, passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2026. Born in Akron, Ohio to Tom and Ann (Ishman) Deitch, he resided in the Akron area his entire life. Jim was employed by Acme Fresh Market, working there for 14 years. He enjoyed going on walks, bike rides, playing frisbee, sitting by the lake, watching football and action movies, butter pecan ice cream and spending time with his family and his dog.

Preceded in death by his parents, Jim will be sadly missed by his wife of 33 years, Nancy; children, Alicia Deitch, James Deitch; siblings, Susie Brown, Marty Deitch, Mike (AnnMarie) Deitch, Julie Deitch, Mary (Bill) Page; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family, friends and coworkers are invited to visit Monday, June 1, 2026 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd.
