Jack E. Whitehair
Jack E. Whitehair, 92, went home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2015 at Altercare of Hartville. He was born in Marietta, OH on April 22, 1923 living most of his life in the Akron area. Jack retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company with 42 years service. He served in the 114th Infantry Division in the US Army during WWII. He loved spending time with his family and took great pride in caring for his home. Jack enjoyed playing cards with his friends and had a special love for all animals.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Pearl Whitehair; and son, Jimmie Whitehair. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, May; sons, Jack (Martha) Whitehair, Michael (Sandra) Boyd; daughter, Carolyn (Michael) Kugelman; grandchildren, Thomas Whitehair, Matthew (Jaime) Brown, Michael Boyd Jr., Rachel Boyd; and great-grandson, Aiden Brown.
Funeral service will be held on Monday April 27, 2015 at 2pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 where family will receive friends at 1pm. Pastor Scott Rockich of Millheim Baptist Church officiating. Interment Hillside Memorial Park.
