Isabella E. Widener

January 25, 1933 — May 14, 2025

Akron

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Faithful Servant of God

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well-lived, the family of Isabella Widener announces her peaceful passing into eternal rest on May 14, 2025. Isabella was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a steadfast woman of faith whose life radiated grace, strength, and compassion.

Born on January 25, 1933, Isabella dedicated her life to her family, creating a home rooted in love, faith, and tradition. As the proud mother of four sons, she nurtured her family with kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion. She was the heart of the Widener family, quietly strong, endlessly loving, and deeply faithful.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Baxter Jr., her sons Gilbert Michael and Scott Alan, her parents Gilbert and Helen Kovats, her brother Gilbert Kovats, and her sister Mary Steinmueller.

She is survived by her loving and caring sons Baxter III (Kathy Schoenegge) and Bruce William, her beloved granddaughter Lindsey (Joe) Skirtich, and her treasured great-granddaughters Jensen, Emerson, and Presley, and her sister Helen Knifely. Her legacy lives on in the generations she guided and inspired.

In her later years, Isabella bravely battled the pain of cervical scoliosis, never allowing it to dim her spirit. She remained a source of love and encouragement to her family until her final days. Though she endured profound losses, her faith never wavered, and her strength became an example for all who knew her.

Now reunited with her loved ones in the arms of her Savior, Isabella’s family takes comfort in knowing she has found eternal peace and joy.

A celebration of Isabella’s life will be held at a time and place to be determined, and all who knew and loved her will be warmly welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to The American Heart Association and Goss Memorial Church. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23.
