Helen M. Oplinger "Yepper", 88, passed away on October 29, 2012. Helen was born on June 26, 1924 in Ironton, OH, to the late John and Flossie Jenkins. Helen was a member of the Army-Navy Club #273 in Lakemore and the VFW on Krumroy Rd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Oplinger; son, John; sister, Vivian; grandson, Thomas R. Oplinger, II; and granddaughter, Trista Oplinger. Survivors include son, Tom (Carol) Oplinger, of Kentucky; daughter, Connie (Dan) Wilson, of Lakemore; grandchildren, Ron (Laurie) Cottrill, Kim (Kenny) Martin, Angie (Bobby) Carrigan, Karen Hall; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Friday, 5-7 p.m., and Saturday, 10-11 a.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
