Helen C. Shields, 72, passed away October 31, 2014. Helen was born in Akron on December 23, 1941. She loved spending time with her family, neighbors, and friends and could often be found playing bingo or taking trips to Mountaineer. She retired from Pioneer Plastics after over 20 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Barry; mother, Mary Goff; sisters, Jacci and Cheryl; brother, Richard; and sister-in-law, Rose. She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Debby (Mark) Harris and Darlene Molnar (Dan); Terry Mollohan, who was like a daughter to Helen; brother, William Barry; brothers-in-law, Robert Hunt and Bob Ross; grandchildren, Joseph and Braxton; and great-grandchildren, Aleeya, Joey, Jaden, Tanner, and Lillian; many nieces and nephews; all her dearest neighbors and friends at Delta 77; and her Bible Study partner and friend, Mary.
A celebration of Helen's life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 3-6 p.m. at Springfield Senior Community Center, 2491 Canfield Rd (Route 224), Akron, OH 44312 (next to the Springfield Fire Department). Please call (330) 801-1813 with any questions.
