Helen Farley David Argenio, 91, passed away on the morning of October 28, 2014.
She was born in East Liverpool, Ohio to Nelson and Sarah Farley on September 27, 1923. Helen graduated from East Liverpool High School and later moved to Akron to work for Goodyear Aircraft.
Becoming one of the famed "Rosey the Riveters", Helen working on the F4 Corsair aircraft. During this time she met and married the first love of her life, Emmett David. The couple produced two children Emmett "Paul" David and Linda H. David.
Shortly after the passing of her husband Emmett, Helen started her career with the U. S. Postal Service's Downtown Akron location. During her tenure she became the first woman supervisor at the Akron Post Office, later becoming the first woman supervisor of the LSM sorting machines. Once again blazing the trail for women. She retired as Forman of Mails. During this time she met and married the second love of her life Fred Argenio.
Helen was a collector of many things. Often referred to as "spider eye" as she could spot a valuable gem from a cross a crowded store! However jewelry was her real passion, especially vintage costume jewelry. Sequins were also a glitzy passion. If it was bling, it was good. Helen also has a keen eye for valuable pottery and china.
Preceded in death by her parents, Sarah and Nelson Farley; first husband, Emmett David; son, (Emmett) Paul David. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Fred Argenio; daughter, Linda Kendall; granddaughter, Christine Cottrell (Rick Cottrell); grandsons, Kevin David, Keith David; daughter-in-law, Sue David; great grandsons, Brandon Hughes and Adam Sandor (Christina Sandor).
The family wishes to invite friends and family to help celebrate Helen's life on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 1 to 3pm at the Mogadore Moose Lodge, 4095 Mogadore Rd., Mogadore, OH 44260. In honor of the occasion the family encourages attendees to wear their BLING. Helen WOULD APPROVE!
