In Loving Memory of Heather Lynn King

1981 - 2024

Heather Lynn King, 42, of Hartville returned to the loving hands of her Lord on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Heather was born on December 4, 1981, in Wuerzburg, Germany to Marcia Moore King and the late Daniel Thornton King, Sr.

In addition to her father, Heather was preceded in death by her son, Jarod Dowdell and her grandparents: Melvin and Helen King and Jimmy and Peg Moore.

Heather and her family moved to Baltimore, Maryland, when she was two, and then to Irvine, California, when she was four. She moved to Akron when she was 11 to live with her father and brother. As an adult, she continued to live in the Akron area.

Heather was highly creative, intensely curious, and full of joy and energy. When she set her mind to a goal, her drive to accomplish it was fierce. At the same time, she had a loving heart that was as big as the world, and she was always willing to give to others, whether it was her time, her attention, or her belongings.

Heather is survived by her mother and her "second Dad" Jon Pike; her daughter, Bella Rose Gadd; and her brother, Daniel Thornton King, Jr.

In addition, Heather leaves behind many friends and acquired family who contributed to the richness of her life over the last few years, including Pam Dowdell, Donna Thomas, Teresa Peach, and Robin Weiss - among many others.

Heather left us before we were ready, but the love she leaves behind will always be here.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a 1:00 pm funeral service at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
