Gus B. Kostich, 88, passed away on June 23, 2026. He was born on February 13, 1938, to the late Gus and Teresa Kostich. He retired after nearly 30 years of dedicated service with B.F. Goodrich.
The Old West held a special place in his heart, particularly the rugged beauty of Wyoming. He found joy in shooting sports, nature photography, and the quiet wonder of wildlife. Yet nothing meant more to Gus than his family. Those passions remained at the heart of a life well lived.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Beverly; and his brother, Bill.
Gus is survived by his children, Jeffrey (Marjorie), Mark (Lisa), Teresa (Darin), and Tim (Michelle); his grandchildren, Jeffrey (Esther), Maverick (Hannah), Linden (Michelle), Alexandria (David), Taylor, Renee (Xavier), and Tabitha; eight great-grandchildren; his siblings, Thomas and Catherine; and many cherished nephews, relatives, and friends.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of The Laurels of Massillon for the exceptional care, kindness, and friendship they shared with Gus over the past several years. We are also deeply grateful to Crossroads Hospice for the comfort, dignity, and support they provided during his final journey.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron), where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
