Gretchen Crisp, 93, of Brimfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Crisp, and her granddaughter, Nicole Crisp. She is survived by her children: Michael and Debra Crisp, Pat and Gabriel Crisp, Dan Crisp and Ken Imlay, and Kim and Mike Brown, grandchildren: Justin and Randi Brown, Noah Crisp, Anastasia Crisp and Scott Martin, Kelsey and Eric Rolenz, and Michael Crisp, and great grandchildren: Adelyn Brown, Connor Brown, Riley Rolenz, Emma Rolenz, and Tanner Rolenz.
Gretchen’s life was defined by her devotion to those she held dear. She was a cherished matriarch, deeply proud of her family, and she took immense joy in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Beyond her role as a dedicated family woman, Gretchen was a person of many talents and interests. She had a love for gardening and golf, and her adventurous spirit led her to new places through her love of travel.
Gretchen served her community for many years as a school bus driver. She was perhaps most famous for her legendary wedding cakes—a labor of love that served as the centerpiece for many cherished family celebrations over the years.
She will be remembered for the warmth she brought to her home, and the enduring love she showed her family. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A service will be held on July 9th at 2:00 p.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, located at 10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH. Following the service, a celebration of life will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Center on the Lake, located at 2491 Canfield Rd, Akron, OH.
