Goldie M. Douglas

Goldie Mae Douglas, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2015. Goldie was born on November 7, 1927 in Meadowbrook, WV to Palmer Francis Nuzum and Alma Mae Lucas. She enjoyed being in the garden, reading all types of books and doing puzzles with her family. Goldie was an avid homemaker and loved her family dearly.

Goldie is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Herbert C. Douglas II.; sons, Herbert C. Douglas III, Rick G. Douglas, Matthew Douglas; father, Palmer F. Nuzum; mother, Alma M. Lucas; sisters,Thelma Shaw, Gladys Yates; brothers, Harold Nuzum, Junior Nuzum, Herman Nuzum, Eugene Nuzum; granddaughter,Taylor L. Douglas.

She is survived by daughters, Gerna M. Isley, Dorinda L. Kalan, Ann Etta "Suzie" Bequeth, Diane, Karen, Terri L. Douglas; sons, Denver L. Douglas, Ronald J. Douglas, Allan J. Douglas; sisters, Betty Hunt, Ellen Porch, Minerva Wortham; brothers, Howard D. Nuzum; 21 grand children and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews who will miss Goldie dearly.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home ,131 N. Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Park.
