Goldie Kathryn Shaffer

Goldie Kathryn Shaffer, 86, went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2013.
Goldie was born on September 21, 1927 in Hendricks, WV to the late Lester Carr and Maggie Carr Loughry. She was a member of the Cathedral of Tomorrow. Goldie enjoyed cooking, gardening, embroidery, and her cats. Goldie had been employed for many years at White Gables Nursing Home as a CNA, later known as Nellie's Nursing Home.
Preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Survivors include daughters, Juanita (Dennis) Cetrone, Betty (Joseph) Rhinehart, Janet (Ronald) Rhinehart, and Patty (Jon) Dyke; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, 9-11 a.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment at Tallmadge Cemetery.
