Goldie E. Ostrander
Goldie E. Ostrander, 88, of Cuyahoga Falls, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 17, 2013. She was born in Akron on February 5, 1925 to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Ardelean.
Goldie taught Sunday School at the Akron Baptist Temple and more recently was a member of The Chapel for over 20 years. She worked in the cafeteria at East High School for 14 years. She was devoted to her family and will always be remembered as a loving, faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Rankin; and sisters, Cornelia Adams and Ruth Sipp.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 66 years, Allan Ostrander; children, Allan (JoAnn) Ostrander, Lynda (Terry) Arman, and Robert (Carol) Ostrander; son-in-law, Joe Rankin; grandchildren, Michael (Charlotte) Arman, David (Jenn) Arman, Christine (Frank) Choate, Sarah Ostrander, Susan Ostrander, and Heather Rankin; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Arman, Jacob Choate, Evan Choate, and Hayley Choate; sister-in-law, Ida Brown; many dear nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Jack.
Visitation will be Thursday March 21 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where visitation will be held Friday from 10-11 followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service with Pastor Steve Bucy officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
