Gladys M. Fleming, 93, of Akron, passed away April 15, 2018. Gladys was born in Hilham, Tennessee on January 8, 1925 to the late Clinton and Neta Terry. She retired in 1989 from Brown-Graves Lumber Company. She was a long-time member of Grace Baptist Church, where she made many friends. She enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge, bowling, and traveling to Myrtle Beach over the winter. She was a hard worker and always took good care of family.
In addition to her parents, Gladys was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Melvin Fleming, and daughter, Linda Fleming.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Jayne (Michael) Stahr; sisters, Lois (Marvin) Nash, Reba (Roger) Stults, and brother, Glen (Linda) Terry.
The family wishes to extend thanks to the staff at Danbury Woods and Clear Path Hospice for the exceptional care she received.
Family and friends will be received for visitation on Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 11 am-1 pm at Grace Baptist Church, 704 N. Firestone Blvd., Akron, OH 44306 with the funeral service to begin at 1 pm immediately following visitation. She will be laid to rest at Hillside Memorial Park .
