Gerald R. Barnes

Gerald R Barnes, 80, of Akron, passed away on December 10, 2025. He was born on November 12, 1945 the son of the late Gilbert and Eleanor Barnes. Gerald proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War. He retired after many years of dedicated service from Ohio Gasket & Shim. He enjoyed woodworking and was known as a "Jack of All Trades" being able to fix anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Virginia M. Barnes; sisters Diane (Ray) Marr, and Elaine Amrhein; his 4 legged feline companions, Piper and Chrissy; nieces Vicki, and Cheryl; and nephews Karl, Ricky, Ryan, Bob, and Jim; and many friends.

Per Gerald's wishes cremation will take place.
