George S. Schalamon
George S. Schalamon, 83, of Stow, passed away February 13, 2015. He was born in Austria on August 25, 1931 to the late John and Elizabeth Schalamon. His family came to the United States and he served in the U.S. Army for two years. He married the love of his life, Elaine Buzaki in 1955 and they were happily married for 55 years until her death on June 16, 2010. He retired from Akron Equipment after 37 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elaine; and daughter, Renee; and brothers-in-law, Steve Buzaki and George Freimuth. He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Mary Freimuth and Elizabeth Buzaki; sister-in-law, Rosemary (Jim) Weaver; nieces and nephews, George and Darla Freimuth, Kathy and Calvin Fleming, Elizabeth and Ronald Miller; numerous other beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. George and Darla wish to thank the staff at Heather Knoll (especially Jen and Liz) and Sprenger Hospice Care (especially Charles and Phillip) for all their loving care.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 10-11 followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sprenger Hospice Care, 3905 Oberlin Ave., Lorain, OH 44053.
