George R. Malone, 81, passed away on Jan. 22, 2009. George was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post #19. He retired from Goodyear after 35 years of service. One of his favorite pastimes was fishing. George is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Sara; sons, Richard (Jackie) and John; step-daughters, Louann and Randi; step-son, Bryce (Melissa); sister, Jeanne Brackett; and four grandchildren. Calling hours will be Monday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be conducted immediately at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. John Phillips officiating.
