George E. Bandy, 65, passed away on May 26, 2025. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Catherine Bandy of Youngstown, Ohio. George graduated from Ursuline High School in 1978, where he was a National Merit Scholar. He attended the University of Akron, where he earned an Undergraduate Degree, Pre Law, in 1982. He received his law degree in 1985 from the University of Akron School of Law.
He was passionate about politics and government. While in school, he served as the student body president at both Ursuline High School and the University of Akron. George also enjoyed debate, and was on the high school debate team, participating in state-level competition.
He was a publisher of classic novels through his business, Summit Classic Press, and continued to work in the field of law. He enjoyed the outdoors, wildlife viewing, and his pets. George was an avid reader of both fiction and world history. He will always be remembered for his wisdom, desire to help others, kind heart, and the love of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Kenneth W. Bandy; and partner Sheila Sheley.
George is survived by his loving siblings, James (Jean) Bandy, Christopher (Becky) Bandy, Elizabeth (Warne) Palmer, Martha (Thomas) Brewer, and Michael (Dee Dee) Bandy; sister-in-law Karen Bandy; loving partner Stephanie M. Holden; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, June 5th at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron)
