Gary Keith Lawrence

Gary Keith Lawrence, 77, passed away May 26, 2025. He was the son of Harold and Betty Lawrence. Gary was born in Akron, Ohio, but spent most of his youth in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School. He then attended The University of Akron, where he obtained his degree in Chemical Engineering.

During the Vietnam War, Gary served in the United Air Force as a munitions officer to fighter squadrons both stateside and in Korea. After leaving the Air Force, Gary worked for several companies in the polymer field, including Western Electric, AT&T Technology, Monsanto, Advanced Elastomer Systems and Exxon Mobil. He was master of injection molding and set up many systems. His work in research and development of new products allowed him to earn 14 patents for his work.

Gary loved soccer and had a FIFA certification to referee games. He loved to go camping, boating and fishing with family and friends. He enjoyed building computers and setting up computers for himself and others.

He was a loving husband to his wife of 57 years, Linda, nee Morris. Gary was a terrific father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his sons, Gary Jr. (Alicia) Lawrence, Michael (Stephanie) Lawrence and Mark Lawrence; grandchildren, Karen (James) Carneal, Michael (Julie) Lawrence, Marrisa Lawrence, Jeremy Lawrence, Kameron Esque and Ann Esque; and great-grandchildren, Joe Lawrence, Ayden, Mason and Charlie Jo Carneal.

Cremation has taken place and family and friends are welcome to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305) on Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 11am until 1pm. A private memorial will follow.
