Gary S. Hudkins passed away peacefully at home on January 11 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Gary was born on July 25, 1951 in Akron, OH to Lynwood and Leona Hudkins. He was preceded in death by both parents as well as brothers; Allen and Warren. Gary grew up in Mogadore where he graduated from high school. Gary was most comfortable outdoors enjoying camping, hunting, and gardening. His greatest hobby, however, was fishing. From flying to Quebec for Walleye, Salmon Fishing in New York, to Lobster Trapping in Maine, he was in his glory. His most recent enjoyment was found on the local lakes in his boat with family and friends. Gary was a past member of the Middlebury Sportsman Club and the Mogadore Moose where he served as trustee, treasurer, and member of the ritual team. He has been a member of the Mogadore V.F.W. for over 25 years. Gary owned a successful carpet installation business for 30 years before transitioning to driving cement mixer as a member of the Machinist and Aerospace Workers Union. Gary will be deeply missed by his loving wife Holly of 45 years, son, John, daughter, Tanya (Scott) Jonda, grandchildren, Haley, Abigail, Eva, Annabelle, Annelise, and Griffin, brother, Robert, and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many dear friends, especially "the gang" at the V.F.W., and "his ducks" at Mogadore Reservoir. The family would like to extend sincere and heartfelt appreciation to Harbor Light Hospice of Monroe Falls for all of their care and compassion. A celebration of Gary's life will be held at the Mogadore V.F.W. social hall on January 17 at 385 Randolph Rd. Mogadore, OH 44260. Family will be receiving friends from 11-12 followed by a memorial service and luncheon.
