Gary J. Grim

Gary J. Grim, 77, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026. Born in Frostburg, MD, he resided in the Akron, Ohio area most of his life. He was a proud Veteran of the U. S. Navy. Known for being well dressed, Gary enjoyed fishing, boating, playing computer games and spending time with his family.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Betty Jean (Whitehead) Grim; step-daughter, Shelly Patterson. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 34 years, Joanne Cambria Vance-Grim; sister, Carolyn (Mel) Humberson; step-children, Roni (Sean) Kemmerer, Joanne (Chris) Smart, Kim Cassady, John Vance Jr; step grandchildren, Chet (Tamara) Elliott, Kristin (Bailey) Elliott, Erin (Braden) Morrison, Cameron Morrison, Gretchen (Donny) Harrison, Heidi (Chuck) Metzger, Gabby (John) Keaton, Liah (Mike) Madden, Joey, Jehna, Jaki; many step great grandchildren, step great great grandchildren, nieces and 1 great niece, Katie.

The family will have a celebration of Gary's life at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Gary's name to the charity of their choice.
