This is not an ordinary obituary because my dad, Gary F. Rose, (GFR), was no ordinary man. I can remember one particular moment, shortly after he was diagnosed with stage iv pancreatic cancer, when we sat down together to compose his bucket list. After a few minutes of looking down at the blank pages of his trusty black notebook he says to me, "You know, I really can't think of anything else to add...I guess you could say I've lived my retirement years upfront." It was comforting knowing that he was able to live everyday to its fullest for the unforgettable 67 years he was here with us (born September 7, 1949). He always had such a knack for seeing the good of every situation. He will be remembered by us for being many extraordinary things: expert story teller, professional scrapper, loving father, grandpa, brother, dedicated husband, and unforgettable friend. His character leaving a small imprint on all of our lives. On September 8, 2016, the world definitely lost a great man in my dad. You are all cordially invited to a casual gathering at Dodds Park, 2425 Lakeside Road, Lakemore, Ohio 44250 on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM, to celebrate GFR's life.
