Gary Wayne Curry

With profound sadness and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Gary Wayne Curry, who peacefully entered eternal rest on August 8, 2026, at the age of 71.

Born on October 17, 1954, Gary lived a life defined by strength, resilience, and an unwavering love for his family. Through every season of life, he faced challenges with courage and determination. Even during the hardest moments, Gary never stopped fighting. His strength and steady presence became something his family could always depend on.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for three years.

More than anything, Gary loved his family. At the center of his world was his loving wife, Gloria Curry. His family was his pride and joy, and there was nothing more important to him than the people he loved. Whether offering wisdom, sharing laughter, watching the game, or simply being there when he was needed, Gary had a way of making his presence known and felt.

Anyone who knew Gary also knew his love for sports. Football, basketball, and baseball were among his favorites, and watching the games brought him countless hours of enjoyment—especially when surrounded by the people he loved.

Gary leaves behind a family who will miss him beyond words, including his devoted wife, Gloria Curry; his children, Bryant Curry and Jeanetta (Dale) Knox; his beloved grandchildren, Aurianna Curry, JaeLynn Knox, Le'Aire Knox, and Nakari Curry; and his great-grandson, Wesley. He is also survived by his siblings, Mark (Carla) Curry and Barbra (Jimbo) McDuffie, along with extended family and countless friends whose lives were touched by knowing him.

Gary was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Gloria Moran, and his brother, Jim Curry.

Though our hearts are broken and life will never be quite the same without him, we find comfort in knowing that his suffering has ended. After fighting for so long and giving us everything he had, Gary is finally at rest—whole, free from pain, and at perfect peace in the presence of the Lord.

His life cannot be measured simply by the years he lived, but by the love he gave, the family he built, the sacrifices he made, and the memories he leaves behind.

We will miss his voice. We will miss his presence. We will miss watching the games with him. We will miss simply knowing Dad was there. But most of all, we will miss the man who helped make our family what it is.

His love, his strength, and his legacy will live on through each of us.

Rest peacefully, Gary. You fought your fight. You finished your race. And you will be loved and missed forever.
