Gary Allen Queen
A much-loved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Gary Allen Queen, 68, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Thursday August 6, 2015 surrounded by his family in Akron, Ohio. He was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on October 20, 1946 to his loving parents Helen E. Ferguson and Clinton A. Queen. Growing up in Clarksburg, West Virginia with his older brother, Ronald Lee Kirby, Gary attended Roosevelt Wilson High School before working at the 7-Up Bottling Company for 18 years. He took great pride in the honor that he brought to our country as he valiantly served in the United States Army stationed in Seoul, South Korea, receiving a national defensive service medal as a marksman (rifle m-14).
Gary was a proud and loving man whose wisdom and playful view of life are continued by his wife of 45 years, Carol Sue Queen; daughters Mary Queen of Santa Clara, California, Regina Cleary of Akron, Ohio, and Rebecca Edwards of Akron, Ohio; Grandson Cody of Santa Clara, California; and Granddaughter Victoria of Akron, Ohio. When Gary was not walking his dog Rocco or enthusiastically watching WWE Wrestling or the Pittsburgh Steelers, he could be found dedicating his time to his family, whom he faithfully and loyally loved.
A memorial service and celebration of Gary Queen's life will be held on Tuesday August 11, 2015 at 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Family will receive friends between 11-1pm.
