Fred Heiselman, 83, passed away on March 17, 2015.
Fred was born in Akron on December 19, 1931 to the late Anthony and Barbara Heiselman. Fred worked at RCA Rubber Company for many years. He enjoyed racing homing pigeons, was a member of the GAR Pigeon Club, The German-American Club, and also the Polish Legion of American Veterans #32 and former member of the German Family Society.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes "Esty"; brother, John; and sister, Joanne Schmidt.
Survivors include daughter, Joanne (Jonathan) Stone; sons, Fred and William; grandchildren, Alex, Katie, CJ, Nick, and Joey; sisters, Pauline Heiselman, Margie Heiselman; friend and companion, Mary Jane Cox and her family; brother-in-law, Dave Schmidt; sister-in-law, Marilyn Heiselman; and several nieces and nephews.
His family would also like to thank Summa's Hospice team for their kindness, Sue, Nathanial, Jen and Chaplain Joseph.
Calling hours will be Thursday, March 19 from 4-8 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral mass Friday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
