Franklin Michael Betts Sr.

Franklin Michael Betts Sr., age 59, of Akron passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Franklin was born February 23, 1967, to Ethel M. and James M. Betts in Akron, Ohio. He has lived and worked in the Akron are all of this life. 

Franklin graduated from Springfield High School in 1986. He was a Grinder Specialist for Rubbermaid for 14 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking, fishing, he was an avid Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes fan, he especially enjoyed WWE Wrestling. Franklin was known for his selfless and caring spirit, he truly had a spirit of servitude.   

He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Julie P. Betts, children, Michael (Tressa), Franklin Jr (Julie), Amanda, Robert (Margaret), Andrew, Jade, Grandchildren, Marissa, Brayden, Ahnika, Devon, Ashlyn, Isabella, and Kaidence, Maggie, Autumn, Sophia, Ray, Noah, Dominic, and Abel. 

 Franklin is predeceased by his father, James Melvin Betts, two brothers, James and Vincent Betts. 

A service honoring Franklin's life will be 12:00 noon Wednesday August 12, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron. Calling hours will be 10:00 Am - 12:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
