Frank V. Nicotera

June 4, 1949 — March 2, 2023

Frank V. Nicotera, age 73, passed away March 2, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Annette (nee Gerhart), his brothers Michael (Dodie) and Gene (Gayle), sister-in-law Elizabeth Feeney, daughters Annamarie Norgrove (James), Kathleen Tomcik, and Connie Carlin (Eric), grandchildren Colton, Monica, Marissa, Adam and Danielle, great-granddaughters Nya and her soon-to-be sister; son Charles (Theresa), and grandchildren Amanda and Jonathan, as well as many nieces and nephews, and lifetime best friends George and Leanna Bell and James and Terri Scullion. Holding a special place in his heart are Lisa and Bob Williams and their two sons, as well as Frank's beloved dog, Peyton.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Yolanda (nee Ciliberto), his brother Anthony and sister-in-law Jeannie. Frank was raised in Leetonia, Ohio until he joined the U.S. Army where he was stationed in South Korea and Texas during the Vietnam war. Following his service in the military, he began working in the car industry for the majority of his career at Spitzer Buick and Ganley Chrysler Plymouth before becoming a croupier at the Mountaineer Casino. Frank loved to golf, but also had a passion and an ear for music and could easily learn to play any instrument he set out to enjoy. He had a heart of gold and it showed!

Sincere gratitude is extended to the doctors, nurses, staff and caregivers at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion provided to him. Frank loved his family and life itself and was honored to help a lending hand to anyone in need. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be made at One of a Kind Pet in Akron, Ohio or the National Cancer Society. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation for one hour prior at Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 6034 S. Locust St. in Peninsula, Ohio. A private interment will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio at a later date.
