Frank C Kiltau Sr., 68, of Akron, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2015 at Akron General Medical Center with his wife by his side.
Frank was born on October 27, 1946, Akron, Ohio to Steve and Mary (Young) Kiltau, and had an older brother Steve Kiltau. On January 26, 1968, he married Hazel (Kathy) Kiltau, Hazel and Frank were married for 47 years and lived in Akron, Ohio, in the Ellet area.
Frank was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He worked at O'Neils, Roadway and MidAmerican Security. He was a member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church for 50 years, and Teamsters Local 24. He was a softball and baseball umpire,and basketball referee. In his earlier years he was an avid scuba diver, fisherman, leather craftsman, and butcher in his grandfathers butcher shop. In his older days he enjoyed singing in the church choir, greeting people in the church, church outreach for shut-ins, boys church battalion, and being a former Deacon. He was an OSU fan, he collected flags an eagles, as he was a very patriotic man. He was friendly and outgoing, he was a jokester with a great sense of humor. He was loving and touched everyone he met in a positive way. He will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his brother Steve E. Kiltau, and his parents Steve and Mary (Young) Kiltau.
Frank is survived by his loving Wife, Hazel (Kathy), his Son, Frank (Michelle) Kiltau Jr.; Two Daughters, Kim Marie (Ford) Kiltau Trowbridge, Janet Kiltau McIntyre; Grand children Christopher Kiltau, Cody Wittmeyer, Katlyn Kiltau, Jessica McIntyre, Sydnie McIntyre, Isaac McIntyre, Nathan Trowbridge, Anna Trowbridge and great grandchild Annabelle McIntyre.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2015, from 4:30 pm to 6 pm at Arlington Memorial Baptist Church, 2330 E. Market Street, Akron, OH 44312, Followed by a memorial service. Pastor Dave Bogue and Pastor Don Davies will conduct the service. Refreshments will be served in the AMBC LIC immediately following the memorial service.
