Francis M. Swesey Jr.

Francis M. Swesey Jr., 77, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. Known as "Junior" and also "Mario", he was born in Parkersburg, WV and spent all of his life in Akron, OH. Junior served in the U. S. Army and worked as a licensed barber, certified welder and worked several years for Bates Brothers Amusement Co. He had a natural artistic ability and loved the beach, animals, fishing and motorcycles.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian Hulmes (Charles) and F. M. Swesey Jr; sister, Virginia "Ginger" Dewey. He is survived his children, Christopher Scott Swesey, Stacey Lynn Swesey; grandchildren, Leah and Alisa Lamonica, Justin and Coby Swesey; sister, Sherry (Ron) Schramm; brother-in-law, Butch Dewey Sr; best friend, Lisa Craig; many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Junior's name to their favorite animal rescue organization.
