Frances G. Martin, 66, of Akron, passed away December 27, 2014. She was born in Akron on July 12, 1948 to the late James and Helen Oliver. Frances was a member of the Xi Eta Psi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and a member of the Yusef Khan Caldron. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl W. Martin, Sr.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Kathy M. Joseph (Dan) and Earl W. Martin, Jr.; brothers, Charles W. Oliver, James L. (Darlene) Oliver, and Ronald L. Oliver; grandchildren, Crystel M. (Matt) Travis, David J. (Samanatha) Joseph, Tabitha Martin, and Amanda Martin; great-grandchildren, Mathew Travis, Jr. and Haley Moore; many close nieces and nephews; special friends, Mark and Ralph; her beloved dog, Kingdom; and extended family members. Over the years, Frances became an adopted mother and grandmother to many neighborhood children.
Family and friends may call on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ed Witchey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G.
