With her family by her side, Frances peacefully joined her Lord and Savior in her eternal home on October 15th in her 86th year.
Fran was born on March 19th 1939 in Akron, Ohio and was raised in Tallmadge. When she was 16 years old, her parents, Vic and Helen Pishney, bought their farm in Rootstown which became the heart of family gatherings for the next 50 years. Whether you were driving a tractor, bringing in hay, scraping rust off the combine with a wire brush, or preparing food, everyone including Fran and her children, pitched in and loved it. Once the work was complete, homegrown beef and Polish dishes were loaded on the hay wagon and rolled down by the crick for a picnic. These are cherished memories for her family.
Shortly after the move to the farm, Fran married Lawrence "Pete" Moore and they had four children together. Following a divorce, she went back to school while raising her children and earned her nursing degree. Fran started her career at St. Thomas hospital working on the floor; however, she soon found her passion working with geriatrics. Fran fell in love and married, Bob Butcher. Bob made her four children his own and supported her when she cared for an uncle in their home, brought in another elderly gentleman, and then, another. It wasn't long before Fran and Bob were running the Albrecht Home, taking in folks for over 20 years. At one point, they had so many residents that they expanded into the house next door. One of their fondest highlights was caring for their foster daughter, Leslie. Fran left a legacy that taught us that there's joy in meeting the needs of the most vulnerable.
Fran has left a permanent mark etched in our hearts and will be greatly missed by her children R. Mark (Lynn) Moore, Judi Moore (Brad Tapp) and Barbara (Steven) Lance; grandchildren Jamie, Tori, Jen, Brandon, Laura, Megan, Devin, Kate, Ethan, Hannah and Elizabeth; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Victor T. (Ann) Pishney; brother-in-law, Robert Gould; and many nieces and nephews. Family was the priority of Fran's life and she was so proud to brag about her children and grandchildren. She was pleased to remind us that "Grandmas are for praying" and whether her loved ones were near or far, she kept up with the details of everyone's life to best know how to pray for them.
She is surely enjoying the heavenly reunion with her beloved husband, Harry Robert "Bob" Butcher; her parents, Victor P. and Helen Pishney; Son, Glenn Moore and his wife, Tish; great-grandson, Macaleb; as well as many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
