Fletcher "Zane" Miller, age 82, of Akron, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025 and is now together again with his beloved "Sweetheart" Donna. He was born one of eight children on March 31, 1943 to Daniel and Donnie (Holcomb) Miller in Ivydale, WV. After high school, Fletcher enlisted in the United States Navy where he served four dedicated years before being honorably discharged.
Fletcher worked 43 years for Akron Porcelain and Plastics before his retirement.
He was a proud member of the Masons. He enjoyed seeing family but he never stayed long - in his words, "I gotta shove!"
Fletcher is survived by his loving daughter, Christina "Tina" (Jeff) Sample; grandchildren, Jessica (Tim) Jablonski, Emma (Jose) Lopez and Nathaniel Sample; great-grandchildren, Rowan Zane and Jensen Zane Jablonski and Lenora Lou Lopez; as well as other family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Donna; and his siblings, Troy, Gerald, Paul, Forrest, Bill, Dixie and Kent.
A private family service has already taken place and Fletcher was laid to rest with military honors alongside his wife at Hillside Memorial Park (1025 Canton Road, Akron, OH 44312).
